My everyday style is all about comfort. It’s neutral, relaxed and provides a great foundation for adding pops of colour and statement accessories. I’m not someone who lives and dies by what the catwalk reports and magazines are telling me is ‘cool’ but I do like to buy trend-lead pieces as long as they’re both functional and comfortable. On a daily basis, I combine high-end and high-street, making sure that those investment pieces are timeless so that they’ll last season after season. When shopping I specifically look for wardrobe essentials that’ll easily slot in with existing items in the knowledge that I don’t have to re-invent the wheel each time I create a look.
So, with that in mind, here is a look at my everyday Winter style and the pieces I rely on to keep me warm, comfortable and confident…
Ah Paris, my favourite French city…
It’s one of those places that has endless photo ops, from picturesque views and vintage markets to quirky street cafes and grandiose architecture. I’ve been in love for years. After seeing a steal of a deal on eurostar.com (£29 each way) shooting some content for the blog and my social channels was a no-brainer. Because I have a full-time job I wasn’t able to take too much time off work so Zoe (@zoegriffinphoto) and I decided to tackle Paris in a day; it was ambitious but completely doable!
I thought I’d dedicate this blog post to getting the perfect Instagram shot, to finding that incredible location to get that Parisian street style snap. Enjoy…
Lacklustre skin has been something that I’ve struggled with on and off for as long as I can remember. This is in part due to having dry skin but also not having the understanding of what kind of ingredients boost my skin to make it radiant.
February has been a pretty dismal month in London, the rain is relentless and the wind has been brutal (gosh I sound British!) The point is that this weather wreaks havoc on my skin; chapped lips, dryness, and skin dehydration – blurgh! Luckily, through my full-time job and reading up a lot about product ingredients I have found three skincare products that have salvaged my skin. Hurrah! Here are the products that I’ve been relying on this Winter.
Earlier this month I shot my very first lookbook in Notting Hill. It’s an area of West London that I really love, not only because of the gorgeous pastel-lined streets but because of its vibrant charm. It’s the predominant backdrop of my Instagram feed, a place that I really feel at home in. There’s nowhere quite like it.
Spring/Summer ’18 attire is slowly trickling into the new in sections of my favourite stores so I wanted to create a lookbook showcasing my favourite print dresses that can be styled to wear now, all the way through to Spring. Enjoy!
So, I’m bringing back the monthly ‘What To Wear Now’ posts, it’s something that I’m going to continue to do every month showing new ways to style looks which are both functional and style focused. I’ve found that I’ve been living in jeans for most of this year and I was getting pretty bored with the same old day-to-day look. This is why I decided to go for a dress, knit and boot combo to mix things up a little.
