All About That Base

Starting with a good base is key to an even make up look, that’s why choosing the right foundation is essential. Finding it is another matter, it’s just never that straight-forward. Go into any beauty store and there are shelves upon shelves to choose from, whether it’s full coverage, matte, glowy or a natural-look cover up, finding the perfect partner to give you a flawless finish can be overwhelming. Of course there are varying price points too from drugstore staples for under £10.00 to an all out splurge which I simply can’t justify.

Liquids, sticks, powders there’s a lot of choice, so here i’ve highlighted my current favourites which work for my skin and could work for yours too…

Best Beauty Buys For Under £20

I’ve been obsessed with skincare and make up for as long as I can remember. After road testing an array of products over the years I know that i’ve definitely paid over the odds for beauty, (yes, I have bought items just because the bottle looked pretty – shameful I know). These brands may be all glam, but they don’t stand up to their claims. Knowing what I know now, looking and feeling good doesn’t have to stretch your wallet. Great beauty buys are available to everyone, sometimes they can just be trickier to find. In this post i’ve omitted products which I have harped on about over and over, such as the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. No one wants to know for the millionth time how much I love it! The products in this post are those which represent great value for money, are effective and do exactly what they claim. Enjoy!

September: What To Wear Now

It’s got noticeably cooler in the last week so it’s now time to talk about how to dress for September. As a new season arrives it’s about wearing multi-functional pieces that you can mix ‘n’ match with items that are already in your wardrobe. It’s not about buying an item just because it’s ‘on trend’, it needs to be ultra-wearable too. Autumn means chunky knits and investing in classic cuts and practical shades that can be worn all the way through to next Spring. I really enjoy adding new textures and layers working them in with my investment pieces. Here’s my guide to Autumn and what i’ll be wearing now.
