Styling outfits should be easy, there’s really no point over complicating things. This Summer I have a style formula that I’ll be relying on to see me through the season. It’s quick, it’s simple and most important of all anyone can do it. Here’s how…
Irrespective of your budget it’s the simplest style formula for dressing this Summer. If you’re like me and love the throw on and go vibe then look no further. So, what is this style formula I’m raving on about? Dress + Bag + Shoes = The Perfect Look
Part One – The Dress
You may have noticed that I love a midi dress. Whether I’m dressing for day or night this is usually the default length I opt for. To be honest it’s because I rarely have the confidence to get my legs out and I find that this shape is the most flattering for my figure.
I do love a print so I like to have fun with what I’m wearing. Here I’ve opted for a dress by Hidden Fashion. The deep V neckline is ultra feminine and the long sleeves perfectly balance out the silhouette of the dress. The tiny pale pink star print is sprinkled all over which makes this a great daytime dress but also one which could be paired with heels ahead of going out to dinner in the evening. Here, I’ve belted it with my favourite vintage heart belt that I picked up about ten years ago in a Bath second-hand store. If you like highlighting your waist, this is the perfect way to do it.
Part Two – The Bag
Firstly, let me start out by stating that it doesn’t need to be a designer bag. This Saint Laurent cross-body did cost me a few bob and I did save up forever to get it. High-end or low-end it doesn’t matter, accessorising the dress with a classic or cult bag will help pull the look together. I’m not one for a big bags, they’re just so darn heavy. Not sure what to choose? Organise your wardrobe and see if you’ve got any cross-body bags hanging out at the back of the cupboard. They’re great for the daytime when you need to be hands-free and perfect for the evening if you end up going dancing after cocktails!
Part Three – The Shoes
If you’re a regular reader of my fashion posts, you’ll know that comfort is key. So, finish off your look with a pair of comfy shoes. I’m loving the mule trend at the moment, so I chose this black faux satin pair from H&M. I loved them so much that I went out and bought another pair just in case. At £12.99 they’re an absolute steal!
So, there you have it, my Summer style formula. Re-work existing pieces together for new outfit ensembles or check out the high street for some new accessories to add your own spin on a new look.
