Layering In New Look

Living in London is challenging; the daily tube commute is sweltering, the walk to my workplace is almost arctic and the office temperature fluctuates throughout the day between crispy cool and balmy! This constant change in temperature calls for smart layering solutions, a relaxed jumper styled over a crisp white shirt with soft tailoring. Whilst perusing the high street I popped my head into New Look, it’s not a store i’ve been into for some time so I was keen to have a look. I was so happy that I went in! There were rails of everything I needed from colour block jumpers to Prince of Wales check trousers. It’s easy to resort to black, so I was keen to incorporate pieces with warmer hues into my daily style. Here’s what I bought…

The Jumper

First up is this gorgeous colour block jumper. It’s knitted from a soft cotton mix in this season’s hottest shade, rust. The cut is boxy and slightly cropped which perfectly balances the bold print with this contemporary silhouette. The funnel neck ensures that you won’t get chilly during the ever-changing Winter weather; it’s my go-to knit for this season.

The Shirt

Next, I opted for a white collared shirt to style underneath. The crisp material is a great under layer to keep you warm, but will easily work on its own if you need to peel off your knit during the day. It’s a versatile style that will always pull a look together.

The Trouser

Finally, we have the on-trend print of the the season, Prince of Wales check. A tailored trouser in this is the very definition of power suiting. The trousers are cut in a cropped, straight-leg silhouette, cinching in at the waist to maximise femininity. What’s not to love?

Black Check Tapered Trousers

New Look really was a winner, sorting a Winter workwear look for less than £60!
