Yes, Winter is finally here and with the clocks going back last night in the UK, shorter, cooler days are now upon us. Winter doesn’t have to be all about chunky, oversized knitwear and coats. It’s easy to throw on anything in the morning when you can’t be bothered, but with the right staples in your wardrobe, you can mix Winter dressing up!
In this ‘What To Wear Now’ post, i’m going to talk about why a jacket teamed with the right pieces will be your go-to item this season and seasons to come. Whether it’s structured, oversized, cropped or somewhere in between investing in a versatile jacket will make sure you’re always looking polished and ready for the day ahead.
The jacket i’ve styled in this look is from Charlotte London, the creation of Londoner, Charlotte Hoolihan who is now based out of Hong Kong. She decided to specialise in feminine jackets due to their versatility knowing that the right jacket can easily pull a look together. Charlotte’s brand is rooted in enabling women to look and feel good everyday – something which is really important to me!
I was sent the gorgeous Biker Box in Navy & Silver. As soon as I saw it I was obsessed! The cut is something i’d usually associate with a black leather jacket, but Charlotte has put her own spin on the norm creating it in a tactile material peppered with sumptuous silver threading throughout. I also adore that it’s punctuated with silver zip detailing to add a little bit of edge to the classic piece. I’m someone who likes to have fun with my style so incorporating a polished, yet tough jacket into my wardrobe is a no brainer.
This jacket isn’t just for the Winter months, but is a 3-6-5 staple that I can style with floaty dresses, high-waisted skirts, cropped trousers and even short-shorts. The list goes on.
Styling the jacket for now couldn’t be simpler, i’ve opted for a classic black roll neck which i’ve layered underneath. Here are some styles for your consideration…
When it comes to finding the right pair of trousers to style with the jacket I opted for denim. I like to go for a skin tight, ultra high-rise cut with a retro twist. Here are some options…
From runways to the high street, chunky ankle boots are a key trend this season – and the perfect way to ground a feminine look.
