Autumn Party Dress Edit

Party season is fast approaching and I like to be prepared. Finding ‘that’ dress however always seems to be a challenge for me. Whether it’s a bit of glitz, lace or shimmer, Autumn parties are the time to shine in a stand out piece. I look for something that is made from an exquisite fabric with meticulous attention to detail. So, in the spirit of being someone who likes to be over prepared here are my Autumn party picks.

If you’ve not noticed already I have a penchant for Whistles, particularly their dresses. The Indira lace dress caught my eye because of its flamenco influence. My favourite features are the soft ruffle tiers and the fitted waist to emphasise the figure, the lace detailing across the shoulders is oh-so gorgeous too. I’ve styled this look with a pair of pointy merlot pumps from Mango (linked at the bottom of the post) and minimal accessories. With an intricately detailed dress like this you don’t need overstated jewellery. This dress really does get me excited for the Autumn party season!

Black is a safe bet for an evening event. As it’s now getting cooler, covering arms and legs is a must if you don’t want to take a jacket on a night out with you. I’ve recently purchased this wrap front midi dress from Vila. The cut is feminine but relaxed and it’s definitely a piece I can wear in the office and then style with a pair of heels and red lipstick for the evening. If you’re after a day to night dress, then this is the one for you!

Brighten your wardrobe up this Autumn with a red polka dot dress. This girlie wrap mini from Influence is the go-to dress if you want to get your dancing shoes on. I’d style it with a pair of Stan Smith’s in the day and then pop on a pair of strappy heels and gold accessories for cocktails with the girls after work – easy!

Ted Baker

Going to a more sophisticated soiree? Well this the the dress for you! Ted Baker has nailed this tuxedo re-interpretation, with pretty ruffles and bow details in this classic monochrome palette. My favourite feature is the delicate tie neck at the collar and the fitted waist for a flattering silhouette. Oh and I did I mention it’s on sale?
