Best Beauty Buys For Under £20

I’ve been obsessed with skincare and make up for as long as I can remember. After road testing an array of products over the years I know that i’ve definitely paid over the odds for beauty, (yes, I have bought items just because the bottle looked pretty – shameful I know). These brands may be all glam, but they don’t stand up to their claims. Knowing what I know now, looking and feeling good doesn’t have to stretch your wallet. Great beauty buys are available to everyone, sometimes they can just be trickier to find. In this post i’ve omitted products which I have harped on about over and over, such as the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. No one wants to know for the millionth time how much I love it! The products in this post are those which represent great value for money, are effective and do exactly what they claim. Enjoy!

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner (£16)

I’ve never been amazing at applying liquid liner, the first time I applied it all those years ago I remember it ‘bleeding’ into my eye which resulted in a black eyeball – yuck! When I stumbled across this Eyeko pen and realised that it actually worked, it was truly a Hallelujah moment! It’s an easy-to-use liquid liner which I use on my upper lid day or night to add definition to my eyes. For me it’s perfect as it offers complete control and total precision. The formulation won’t budge so I can dance all night long without any smudging. At £16 this really is a steal.

BECCA Backlight Priming Filter (£15)

Becca Cosmetics products have been a staple in my beauty box for a number of years now. First it was the Shimmering Skin Perfector and now I can’t live without the Backlight Priming Filter. After applying my skincare in the morning a primer is a necessary base to create an even, long-standing make up look. This Becca filter creates a soft-focused glow that blurs skin imperfections whilst also adding a little shimmer to the skin. The result is an even, smooth, glow that lasts from day to night. Containing Vitamin E, it minimises the appearances of fine lines and is also formulated without the nasties, Parabens, Sulfates & Phthalates.

the ordinary moroccan argan oil (£6)

I need to write a blog post about The Ordinary alone, it’s just the most incredible brand, however today I am picking out my current favourite, the Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil. At £6 it’s a multi-functional bargain, reducing any flakiness on my dry skin and adding a soft sheen to my hair. The texture is lightweight so your skin and hair don’t feel heavy, just add a few drops in the morning and you’ll be good to go!

Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Round Brush (£17)

The Tangle Teezer launched and it made my life so much easier; yank and tear-free. Brushing hair really was a nightmare. I recently purchased this small styling brush to help add a bit of oomph and volume and it really is a game-changer. After using this brush i’m left with a natural bounce and an all-over shine, which is hard if you’re a blonde like me! 10/10 for this one.

deep sleep pillow spray (£18)

My secret to a good night’s sleep? This little miracle bottle. Sleep has never been something that has come easily for me so I purchased this a few years ago and haven’t looked back. I spritz it on my pillow before bed, filling my room with the gorgeous fragrance of Lavender, Vetivert and Camomile. It instantly reduces any anxiety from the day and helps me to sleep throughout the night. Why does this help my skin? During the deepest stage of sleep, the tissue in skin repairs. Without enough deep sleep, this repair process slows down resulting in premature ageing. Having a great night’s sleep means I wake up refreshed and am ready for the day ahead.
