Figuring out exactly what your skin needs can be hard, whether your skin is oily, sensitive or prone to breakouts, everyone’s skin needs a unique regime to keep it in optimum condition. For me one of my favourite things to do is use a face mask after cleansing my skin, they’re so beneficial, delivering the nutrients my skin needs. Knowing which type of face mask is right for your skin type is another point to consider, the wrong one can lead to dry, irritated skin. Here i’ve picked out the key types, highlighting which one is right for you.
Hydrating Masks For Dry Skin
Skin is predominantly made up of water and when it’s dehydrated it loses its plumpness and elasticity, leading to premature signs of ageing, so it’s an important make sure it’s not parched! Using a hydrating mask is beneficial to all skin types. When I look for a hydrating mask I make sure it contains Hyaluronic Acid, which plumps and nourishes.
Exfoliating Masks For Oily Skin
Exfoliating masks are the ideal treatment to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. They will leave skin glowing; tightening, brightening as well as slowing skin ageing. If you have oily skin, they’ll also remove excess oil. Whilst an exfoliating mask is a fantastic part of a regime to boost the skins surface, over use can be detrimental, so everything in moderation.
Charcoal Masks For Breakout Prone Skin
If your skin is oily or prone to breakouts, this type of face mask is for you! Ingredients like activated charcoal are perfect for removing the skins impurities, detoxifying and cleaning pores.
Gentle Masks For Sensitive Skin
Having sensitive skin is difficult, choosing the wrong ingredients can cause irritation and redness. Opting for a mask with natural, parred back ingredients will certainly mean that your skin is less likely to get aggravated. As I fit into this category, I try a sample before buying the product and patch test it on my skin making sure that we’re perfect partners!
