If you follow me on Instagram or have read my previous post about my natural make up look you’ll know that i’m a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury. Being someone who is usually quite time poor I was intrigued to try out one of the Quick ‘N’ Easy make up kits, which according to the website took 5 minutes! As i’ve got my daytime look sorted for the time being I thought i’d go for the Red Carpet Party Look, it’d be perfect to take with me to work before an evening out.
When the post arrived I opened a beautiful burgundy box to find everything enclosed in a pouch with a beauty card and plenty of instructions.
As always the packaging is beautiful, I just stared at it for a while!
The contents included:
- Mini Wonderglow 15ml
- Matte Revolution lipstick in Red Carpet Red
- Rock ‘N’ Kohl in Barbarella Brown
- Lip Cheat in Kiss ‘N’ Tell
The day I tried this look out I wasn’t in a rush to go anywhere for once so before I applied anything onto my skin I thoroughly cleansed my face with This Works Light Time Cleanse & Glow. Next I moisturised with This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up so my make up would apply evenly. I put a pea-sized amount of Wonder Glow between my fingers tips and applied it all over my face focussing on my cheekbones to lift my complexion.
Once this was complete I applied the Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand in Shade 1 to cover up the dark circles under my eyes.
Next, I got the eye pencil and applied it to the upper and lower lash line. I’ve never been any good at applying pencil to my upper eye lid so I was pleased to find out the pencil was nice and soft and thus easy to use! I applied to half way across on the lower lid – apparently if you draw it all the way to the inner eye it makes your eyes look smaller. The next step was to grab my Full Fat Lashes mascara and layer it on and that’s what I did.
The lips were the final part to the look. I’ve not used a lip liner before so I went ahead and drew it on. Lucky i’ve got a reasonably steady hand so there were no massive blunders!
I then filled in the rest of my lip with the Red Carpet Red lipstick. I loved the shape of the stick as the pointed tip meant that it was super easy to apply. The lip liner with the lipstick meant that I could create a fuller pout and there was no ‘bleeding’ as the liner acted as a barrier.
The Finished Look
The whole look did actually take 5 minutes so the kit really does live up to its promise. Whilst I won’t be gracing a red carpet anytime soon I felt confident in my evening look and ready to go out for a night on the tiles.
I’ve also added in the how-to video from Charlotte’s site for some extra tips.
I hope you enjoyed the post.
