Early Spring is somewhat unpredictable when it comes to the weather, in England especially. We have a blistering hot weekend and then temperatures take a nose dive the next day. It’s paramount to have a bank of wardrobe staples for days when the weather won’t make up its mind.
A chambray shirt is always a good choice. Layer it under lightweight knitwear for cooler days or roll up the sleeves when it’s warmer.
The Lightweight Jacket
A utility jacket is a versatile piece, it works styled with skirts, dresses and even boyfriend jeans. I choose Khaki as it’s a neutral colour that fits with an array of hues.
Or if you’re wearing a long-sleeved top you can opt for a sleeveless jacket that’s long enough to cover your bum…
The Breton Top
This is my Spring wardrobe must-have. Pair it with skinny jeans and trainers or dress it up with a luxe skirt. Long sleeves will guarantee arms stay warm on colder days and wide crew necklines will add a feminine touch.
Cropped trousers work well with all shapes. Whilst it’s still a little too cold for skirts and shorts, it’s never too early to show some ankle after months of being tucked away in winter socks.
I like to roll-up the bottom of my MOM jeans for a cropped look…
It’s not quite warm enough to dig out your sandals from the back of your wardrobe so compromise with a backless loafer, ballet flat or lightweight trainer in a spring colour.
The Long Sleeve Dress
For days when you don’t fancy lugging around a heavy jacket, opt for a long sleeved dress with a knee length hemline that you can style with a lightweight blazer when it gets cooler.
